Fall

Fall is my absolute favourite time of year.  I love the freshness of the cool air and the beautiful colours everywhere.  Sorry for the lack of photos, but we were very busy enjoying the Autumn weather and our activities.

The past 2 weeks we explored leaves and the changes that fall brings.  On our walks. we discussed the changes we saw and gathered leaves to take back with us.  We taped some of the leaves to a stick to create a paint brush then painted fall colours onto paper with our leaf brush.  The children each chose a leaf and then the older ones filled out an information sheet on their leaf.  We painted the leaves and then pressed them onto paper to make prints.  We glued with fall coloured construction paper to create lovely cut and paste pictures.

Pretty Leaves
Pretty leaves they are falling
Falling down to the ground
When the wind blows his trumpet
See them dancing around
Tra-la-la-la-la-la-la
Tra-la-la-la-la-la
Tra-la-la-la-la-la-la
Tra-la-la-la-la-la
Pretty leaves they are falling
Falling down to the ground
When the wind blows his trumpet
See them sitting back down.

I Like Autumn
I like to roll in the leaves,
Feel the cool breeze,
Stuff a scarecrow top to bottom!
And you can call it fall
If that's what you please,
But I say, "I like Autumn!"
A diddle-up, A diddle-up
A diddle-up a dee,
Our jackets - we're glad we brought 'em.
You can call it Fall
If that's what you please,
But I say, "I like autumn!"
I say, "I like autumn!"
