Valentine's Day

The children are excited for party day on Friday!  Some of the activities we've enjoyed for Valentine's day are...

Mice Guys - these little puppets are super cute!

We made Whoo Whoo Loves You? Valentine Bags to hold our cards and goodies.

I fell in love with this L-O-V-E sign and had to do it with my crew.  We did the prints and letters on construction paper and mounted them on bristle board.

Aren't our love bug hats just the cutest!!  We used bristle board, pipe cleaners, felt sticker hearts and large googly eyes to make them.

I bought a kit to make shrinky dink valentine zipper pulls from Michaels.  The kit made 3 zipper pulls and was on sale for .75!

Some of our favourite valentine songs are...

Skinna-ma-rink

Skinnamarinky dinky dink
Skinnamarinky doo
I love you!
Skinnamarinky dinky dink
Skinnamarinky doo
I love you!
I love you in the morning
And in the afternoon
I love you in the evening
Underneath the moon.
Skinnamarinky dinky dink
Skinnamarinky doo,
I love you and you and you.
I love you too
Scoo-doo-bee-doo.

Sing a Song of Valentines
(Sung to: "Sing A Song of Sixpence")

Sing a song of Valentines,
Excitement in the air,
Valentines are coming,
Hiding ev'rywhere.
Some are red and
Some are pink and
Some are soft and blue,
Some are in the mailbox

On their way to you.

Love is Nothing

Love is nothing 'til you give it away
Give it away, give it away
Oh love is nothing til you give it away
And you end up having more.

Love is like a magic penny
Hold on tight and you won't have any
Lend it, spend it
You'll have so many
They'll be rolling all over the floor.

Oh, love is nothing 'til you give it away
Give it away, give it away
Oh love is nothing til you give it away
And you end up having more.

I Am Your Heart

I am your heart and I go beat, beat
I pump blood white you are asleep.
I pump blood when you jump up and down.
I pump blood when you run around.
I pump blood when you move your feet.
I pump blood as you tiptoe to your seat.

Our February project was on Valentine's Day.

CNY

We had a blast celebrating Chinese New Year.

We made these handprint dragons found on the Create Town's website.

We also made good luck fish from Spoonful.

We enjoyed chicken fried rice and egg rolls for lunch one day.  And one of the children brought red envelopes for all her friends.

Arctic and Antarctic

If you can't beat them... join them!  The past two weeks we enjoyed learning about the Arctic and Antarctic in the warmth of our playroom.  This winter has been one storm / windchill warning after another!  Here are some of the activities we enjoyed.

I saw this adorable polar bear craft C.R.A.F.T.  They turned out so cute!

We made these paper plate walruses from I Heart Crafty Things.

We also made footprint penguins and construction paper penguins.

We did our January project on the Arctic and Antarctic.

I created this compound word matching game for the project.

You can find  other Arctic / Antarctic printables on my website under FREE PRINTABLES - LAPBOOKS
