The past two weeks we have been enjoying a unit on dinosaurs.  Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I was having so much fun with the children and the activities that I forgot about my camera!  This was definitely a favourite for everyone.  I have a huge bin of dinosaurs and the children used them for sorting activities as well as during play time.  They set up some really neat play structures using the blocks with the dinosaurs.

Some of the crafts we enjoyed were...

Fossils - we pressed dinosaur skeletons into Plaster of Paris to create fossils.

Pterodactyls - I used this photo as inspiration.  I cut the body part from felt so the children could flap the wings.  They LOVED these!  There is a printable template here.

T-Rex Skeleton - the children put together a cut and paste activity sheet.

We also made these stand up dinosaurs.

Some of the songs we enjoyed were...

Charlotte Diamond's Dicky, Dicky, Dinosaur

Dinosaurs Lived Long Ago

Dinosaurs lived long ago
When the Earth was new
They were very big and strong
Very scary too.
Some of them had plants to eat
From the ocean floor
Some of them would rather eat
Another Din-o-saur!

We also watched some of the episodes of Harry and His Bucketful of Dinosaurs on You Tube.
