Pumpkin Time

This week we started our Halloween unit with all kinds of pumpkin fun!  Some of the crafts that we created were...

Coffee filter pumkins - dip a coffee filter into orange food colouring and let dry.  Make a ball with newspaper to place into the center of the filter and pull the sides up then glue.  We added a construction paper stem and the older children wanted to draw faces on theirs.

Pumpkin Patch - children stamped their palm prints onto paper and then added a fingerprint stem.  When dry, they added the vines.

Puzzle Pumpkins - I saw this craft on the net, but didn't pin it so I have no idea where I saw it.  The children drew a pumpkin shape on orange paper and then cut it into strips.  They glued the strips onto a piece of black paper putting their pumpkin back together.  They then added a stem and face features.

I created this recording worksheet to use while measuring our pumpkin.  After measuring, I placed the pumpkin in the center of the group and they drew what it looked like in the large square on the worksheet.
