After France, we popped on over to Italy.  A small country with very well known cuisine!  This week we set up a pizzeria in the dramatic play area.  I created pizza and pasta menu's for the children to take orders from and we set up a delivery system.  The dramatic play area was very well used this week!

I'm sorry for the lack of pictures this week... I was too busy ordering pizza ;)!  We made the really cute chef hats in the pictures.  Other fun activities for Italian week is setting up a pasta factory with a table top stove, pots, utensils, plates and cooked pasta for the children to use as a sensory/dramatic play activity.  Crafts for Italy include pasta collages, pasta necklaces, a gondola, and making a paper pizza.

Charlotte Diamond has the English version of Je Suis Une Pizza as well so we enjoyed listening and singing I Am A Pizza and an old favourite is always On Top of Spaghetti.

We listened to the story Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola and a tale Strega Nona tells Tomie.

We also made our own individual pizzas for lunch on Friday.... YUM!
