I See A Bunny

I love Easter... what's not to love... an adorable bunny that brings you chocolate!!!  I always miss my snuggly bunny Snowball at this time of year so... Snowy - this post is for you!

We made these cute little bunny pockets to hold the eggs at our egg hunt.  My two 18 month olds have been practicing circles and were able to make their own faces... they did a FAB-U-LOUS job and were really proud of their work :).  I'm going to add a ribbon handle to the pocket and some tissue paper and use them instead of baskets.  I just folded a piece of construction paper and stapled up the sides (glue would work too) then the children glued the ears on and drew on the faces with markers.

Here is a cute bunny mask printable in black and white or colour that can be used for circle time actitivies, in the dramatic play area or for a craft.

We will be making felt bunny finger puppets next week.  You can find instructions for two types of puppets here and here.

I created this trace and copy worksheet for the children.

Here are some of our favourite bunny songs and fingerplays...

Lippity Lop

Lippity lop, lippity lop
Here comes a bunny hippity hop
With ears so tall and tail so small
Hippity, hippity hop
He sits up straight and wriggles his nose
At every sound he hears
Then scampers away as fast as he can
And suddenly disappears
Oh
Lippety lop, lippety lop
Here comes a bunny hippity hop
With ears so tall and tail so small
Hippity, hippity hop.

Mr. Ears

I have a little bunny
I call him Mr. Ears
Because he perks his ears up
At everything he hears.
I have a little bunny
I call him Mr. Ears
His nose begins to wiggle
When Easter time is near.

Little Peter Rabbit (sung to: John Brown's Baby)

Little Peter Rabbit had a flea upon his ear (x3)
So he flipped it and he flopped it and it flew away.
Little (child's name) Rabbit had a flea upon her toe (x3)
So she flipped it and she flopped it and it flew away.
Continue using every child's name in the group.

Did You Ever See a Bunny (sung to: Did you ever see a Lassie)

Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny
Did you ever see a bunny, munching his lunch?
He munches and crunches, and crunches and munches
Did you ever see a bunny, munching his lunch?

Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny
Did you ever see a bunny wiggle his nose?
He wiggles and giggles, and giggles and wiggles
Did you ever see a bunny wiggle his nose?

Did you ever see a bunny...flapping his ears?
He flips them and flaps them... (etc)

Did you ever see a bunny...hop on one foot?
He hops and he hops...(etc)
